Get your Garden On!!

It is my favorite time of year in Phoenix-it is cooling off and almost time to start planting my fall garden.  If you are looking for a guide to fall planting check out the schedule of pumpkins, cantelope and watermelonvegetable planing dates for Maricopa County.

Now I just need to figure out how to keep the birds from eating my tomatoes.

On the move

After 4 wonderful years at Keller Williams Realty East Valley, I have moved to a local  real estate company-Thompson’s Realty.    Jay Thompson, the designated broker-known to many as “The Phoenix Real Estate Guy“  is nationally known and respected blogger and Realtor.  Thompson’s Realty

Jay and his wife Francy, are dedicated to providing outstanding customer service and use the latest technology in their business-the values that are so important to me in my real estate business.  Read more about Thompson’s Customer Service Philosophy

Needless to say I am thrilled to be apart of such a great company and will continue to  provide great service to my clients-using technology to ensure a great home buying or selling experience.

I thank Keller Williams for all of the training, teaching and support that they gave me when I first started in real estate and will miss all my friends, but change brings growth and  I look forward to my new adventure.

Good News for East Valley Commuters!

The last and final leg of the Loop 202 opened this morning, hopefully bringing releif to commuters in the East Valley.

The biggest benefit will be for all the people from east Mesa or Apache Junction who’ll no longer have to use U.S. 60 to Loop 101 on their commute to north Phoenix.

This final addition may have even more positive ramifications for the city of Mesa.

“Mesa is also working to build an internationally known destination with high-rise corporate office buildings, world-class resorts and an efficient mix of transportation and housing around Gateway Airport near Power and Williams Field roads.”

This is also great news for residents of Las Sendas and the new community of Mountain Bridge, located just minutes from the newly opened section.

“It will also ease the drive to Arizona State University Polytechnic, at Gateway Airport, the school’s fastest-growing campus with 9,000 students.”

With gas prices still at $4.00 plus a gallon, this is certainly a welcome addtion for East Valley commuters.

Have a Safe Holiday Weekend-Phoenix Road Construction

From the Arizona Dept of Transportation

***No Freeway Restrictions or Closures in Phoenix Area Over Memorial Day Weekend (May 23-26)****

The Memorial Day weekend signals the start of the summer travel season, and the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) wants to help make this weekend’s travel easier on everyone. There are no construction closures or restrictions scheduled on Valley freeways over the long holiday weekend.
ADOT advises drivers to be prepared for existing work zones along busy stretches of Valley freeways. This includes Interstate 17 in the North Valley and Interstate 10 in the West Valley, where crews are building much anticipated new lanes and making other improvements. ADOT asks drivers to slow down and concentrate on safe driving in these areas.ADOT reminds everyone of these safe driving tips as the holiday weekend begins:

For a complete listing of freeway and highway closures or restrictions across Arizona, visit ADOT’s Travel Information site at www.az511.gov or call 5-1-1.

The Arizona Department of Transportation is coordinating freeway improvements throughout the Valley. These projects - which include new freeways, additional lanes and interchanges, rubberized asphalt, new landscaping and more - are included in the 20-year Regional Transportation Plan for Maricopa County More than $15 billion in comprehensive, diverse transportation improvements are funded in the plan through a voter-approved sales tax that became effective in January 2006. More information on ADOT’s freeway portion of the Regional Transportation Plan is available at www.azdot.gov/ValleyFreeways
